Funeral ceremonies
A personal ceremony at a crematorium, graveside or natural burial ground, shaped around your family’s wishes and pace.
A funeral should tell the story of the person you loved. I’m here to help you tell it; gently, personally, and in your own words.

Michele Baxter
I’m an independent funeral celebrant living and working on the Kent coast. When someone you love passes away, my role is to help you move from those first overwhelming days through to a farewell that truly reflects who they were.
Over an unhurried conversation, I’ll help you gather the stories, music and memories that made your person who they were, and weave them into a ceremony that sounds like them. Traditional or contemporary, religious in places or not at all; it’s entirely your choice, and nothing is said on the day that you haven’t read and approved first.
A personal ceremony at a crematorium, graveside or natural burial ground, shaped around your family’s wishes and pace.
A gathering, whenever and wherever feels right, to share stories, music and love in their honour.
The right words for quieter moments, from scattering ashes to marking an anniversary.
From our first conversation to the ceremony itself, you’ll always know what happens next, and you’ll never face any of it alone. We start with an informal chat, then I spend time with you and your family gathering the story, write the ceremony and send you the full draft to approve, and arrive early on the day itself to lead it warmly and calmly.
Based in Hythe, and covering the places below. If you’re nearby but don’t see your town listed, do still get in touch.
There’s no such thing as too early or too late to get in touch.
