Lifenotes – My Story
A conversation worth having, while there’s still time to have it.
Some stories are too important to leave unwritten. Lifenotes – My Story is a gentle, face to face interview service that sits down with the people you love and helps them tell their story, in their own words, so it can be kept, shared and read back for years to come.
Not another app. A real conversation.
There are plenty of digital tools now that ask people to type out their memories into a form, or record themselves talking to a screen. They have their place, but they ask a lot of someone who may not be comfortable with technology, and they rarely capture the small, unplanned moments that come out when a person feels truly listened to.
Lifenotes – My Story is different. I come to you, sit down together, and have a real conversation. No screens, no forms, no pressure to perform for a camera. Just two people talking, at a pace that feels natural, with the space for a memory to unfold properly rather than being squeezed into a text box.
That trust, built face to face, is what makes the difference between a list of facts and a story that actually sounds like the person who lived it.
What you end up with
Every conversation is carefully recorded and shaped into a warm, accurate legacy document; a written account of a life, told the way your loved one would want it told. It can be kept privately as a family keepsake, shared with relatives near and far, or used later as the foundation for a eulogy that truly reflects who they were, rather than a rushed summary written under pressure.
How it works
A first chat
We talk through what you’re hoping for, whether that’s a full life story, a focus on a particular chapter, or simply a record for the family. No commitment, just a conversation to see if it feels right.
The interview sessions
I visit in person and we talk, at whatever pace feels comfortable. Some people cover their story in one long afternoon, others prefer a few shorter visits. There’s no script to follow, just gentle guidance to help the memories flow.
The story, written
I shape what we’ve discussed into a document that reads the way they spoke; honest, warm, and true to them. You’ll have the chance to review it and suggest anything you’d like added or changed.
Yours to keep
The finished document is yours; to print, to share with family, to hold onto for whenever it’s needed, including, if the time comes, as the heart of a eulogy.
Who this is for
- Families who want to capture a parent or grandparent’s story while they’re still able to tell it themselves
- Anyone who wants a thoughtful, accurate record of a life, not just a collection of dates
- People thinking ahead, who would rather their story be told with care than pieced together later from memory
